Elect Alex Ricketts on 1st May
I’ve been honoured to serve as a Canterbury City Councillor for Blean Forest since 2019, and I hope, with your help, to represent our area as Kent County Councillor for Canterbury North.
Over the past six years I’ve met so many wonderful people and, alongside my councillor colleagues James Flanagan and Peter Old in Chestfield, as well as Steph Jupe and Dan Smith in Blean Forest, worked on a wide variety of different issues, trying to protect and improve the area we all love.
I live on Rough Common Road, with my family, where we dodge potholes and speeding motorists on a daily basis. As Chair of Canterbury’s Joint Transportation Board and Cabinet member for Transport, I regularly engage with both the County Council and local transport providers. One of my priorities as a County Councillor will be to act as a much stronger voice for the area when it comes to the condition of our roads, and the ever-increasing “emergency” road closures.
Speaking to residents over the past few years, either at meetings, or walking my dog in Blean Woods I know how important the countryside is to us all. I was at the forefront of the campaign to protect Duke’s Meadow and Neal’s Place Meadow and will continue to fight on all fronts to preserve the environment for future generations as well as our own.
There is so much more that can be done to build on the work already under way, and with your support, I hope to be able to represent our area in Maidstone. I would love to hear from you, so please do get in touch, or say hello when you see me out and about.
